A quarter beef contains a mixture of steaks, roasts and ground beef. It fits fills 4 cubic feet of freezer space. This amount of beef usually feeds a family of two adults and two teenage kids for 10-14 months.
Your quarter beef will be approximately 110 pounds for $625 plus butcher shop fees (about $200). You work with the butcher to customize your order of steak (ribeye, NY strip, filet, sirloin, flank, skirt, flat iron, tri-tip, round and cube), roast (chuck, arm, rump and sirloin tip), ground beef (at least 90% lean), beef patties and specialty cuts (brisket, short rib and stew beef). Beef shares are sold on a quarter basis. If you would like a half or whole, select two or four quarters.
